Happy Sephora Sale to all who celebrate

Let’s not waste $ on bad products

My first job ever was an under-the-table gig posing kids during team sports photoshoots. It was weird. I had to wear khakis paired with an ugly collared shirt and they only paid me in cash. This is because I wasn’t legally allowed to work as a 14-year-old (surprise, surprise). Strange times, but I’ll never forget the day I received my first paycheck…or rather, a bundle of cash in an unmarked envelope. It made the long days and suspicious business endeavors all worthwhile.

As a 14-year-old, I naturally blew all my cash in one big spend in the only way I knew how: A trip to my local mall, more specifically, Sephora.

To be honest, I’d say 70% of the money made in high school was spent at Sephora. You could say I was a Sephora Teen before the name was coined. Before my trip to the mall, I would spend hours online curating my shopping list, looking up articles like the ones I write today. I’d search high and low for the best new serums, acne products that actually work, and the makeup pallets my favorite YouTube stars were using.

Flash forward to the present day and I’m one of many people behind those recommendations. Yes, it’s truly come full circle.

With all of my Sephora purchases of the past, I know how it feels to have bought a product that you later found out was overpriced or overhyped ($80 marula oil included). So, to save you time searching, I’m here to deliver my best recommendations—not just from personal testing, but also the ingredient knowledge I’ve gained over the last few years as an editor. Without further ado, let’s shop the Sephora Sale.

How the sale works

This isn’t your average retail sale, because your discount depends on your Beauty Insider level. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Insiders: No minimum spend —> 10% off

  • VIB: Spend $350 each year —> 15% off

  • Rouge: Spend $1,000+ each year —> 20% off

Everyone needs to use the code YAYSAVE at checkout. The sale ends on 4/15.

Where to find my product recs

I’ve curated all of my product picks into this collection on Shop my Shelf. You can find my personal tips in there as well if you click on the information icon in the top left corner of each product.

That’s all, happy Sephora Sale Season to all who celebrate.

💌Until next time

The next official &fini newsletter is coming in a few weeks…it’s going to be superb. I’ll have on a guest curator for Inspo Expo and a handful of other fun sections, beauty and non-beauty topics to be expected.
